Biography
WELCOME!
I grew up in Karlskoga, Sweden with roots in Vansbro, Dalarna. Singing and dancing was early a part of my life.
For many years my time was filled with choirs, voice lessons, dance and horseback
riding. The veterinary dreams I had, were put aside as singing and dancing came to
forefront. I was accepted to the Ballet Academy of Stockholm but did not finish my studies there as I was offered a chance to study Musical Theatre in New York.
The Big Apple has since been the apple of my eye, but today I share my time between USA and Sweden. With the help of some of New York's most prominent teachers I
was, within a year, given my first role in the US, as Cinderella. That was followed by several musicals, among them my favourites Carousel and Fiddler on The Roof where I played the
daughter Hodel.
I left the theatre for a few years, still however working on a stage of sorts, as an "ambassador" for NY in the role of tour director for European tourists and incentive groups.
My opinion is that every audience is to be respected, inspired and shall be given something beautiful to bring home. Visually, and for the mind.
It is important for me to attempt to help people open up their minds and let their hearts feel. As a friend says when he performs on the streets of NY;
There is only One race. The Human Race.
To heal, forgive and go on after a tough personal time, I put together my program "A play about Love", which premiered in the Swedish Church in NY.
I felt healed but have also experienced the joy of my audience, finding comfort as well. "Music is built upon happiness. From happiness you make music" (Lill Lindfors)
My belief is that difficult subjects can be more easily understood if balanced by music and a sense of humour. For a global understanding and a world filled with love we need to meet as individuals and show our vulnerability.
My hope is to be a part of this process through my song, The lyrics are important.
The music enhances the text.
What the brain cannot hear the heart will feel through the music.
"If I don't understand a word of your service, come as music or sit down- hold my hand" (Swe. Ps.532)
